About the MBA Parade of Homes

We loved seeing you all at the 2023 Parade of Homes this year! As a longstanding member of the Metropolitan Builders Association, we know the Parade is a great way for you to see what’s new in construction and find the builder that’s right for you and your family!

This year, we debuted a brand new floor plan: The Kenzie. Derivative of our 2021 model, the Harper…the Kenzie features a two-story design with special touches throughout. Perfect for a smaller lot or lake home project, it was special for us to be able to show you this amazing new Demlang home at the Parade of Homes. If you loved what you saw, the Parade model is for sale – meet with one of our New Construction Specialists to learn more.

Take a look at The Kenzie, our newest floor plan for the 2023 Parade of Homes! When the Parade opens on August 12, you’ll find this model situated on Lot 19 of Redford Hills subdivision, in the Village of Sussex – surrounded by open green space and wetland conservancies. Before we break ground, materials are selected. Follow along to see The Kenzie come together.

Let the home-building begin (well, a few months ago actually)! Let’s go back in time to recap the construction progress – every good home begins with a solid foundation, so after finishing our site survey, we excavated the site and set the footings.

This is the moment when wood and concrete finally start looking like a home. Every aspect is engineered with the latest building science, so that it doesn’t just look good, but it’s built to stand the test of time, too. Once the windows, roofing, and Tyvek go up, the inside of The Kenzie is sealed off from the elements. Not to mention, we love seeing how the room looks with those floor-to-ceiling windows finally installed.

While the mechanicals may not get the glory, they act as one of the most important parts of a home. With a focus on energy efficiency and adhering to building codes, our team of expert plumbers and electricians go in to make the home comfortable and safe. We may not see their work, but we feel it!

With the insulation and drywall finally up, the rooms are starting to take shape. From the spacious owner’s suite to the great room and Messy Kitchen, we love seeing The Kenzie come to life!

Back when we selected the kitchen cabinets and countertops, we knew that their complimenting warm neutral colors would look good, but it’s always special seeing everything installed. Of course, when picking surfaces that you’ll use everyday, it isn’t just about looks – they need to be durable too. That’s why we went with quartz in our kitchen. We’re counting down the days to the Parade’s opening day (August 12th), are you?

Up next is flooring, which really pulls the home together. With time and care, we make sure that all the surfaces you’ll walk on every day are installed to the highest standards. Also, we love the way the floors coordinate with all the neutral color tones of the house.

We’re in the homestretch! Right before the Parade of Homes opens, we’re painting the walls and staining the wood around the home. After paint, we’re installing cabinetry hardware and light fixtures. Can’t wait to greet you at the front door.

The Parade of Homes opens this week! We’ve completed our final walkthrough and are ready to show off The Kenzie. Did you know that between 200 and 300 people are involved in building each Demlang home? From suppliers to trade contractors, the stronger the relationships, the stronger the home. See you on Saturday, August 12th!
